“Anyone who has had to make the decision to remove a parent from their home and place them into an assisted living or nursing home, knows it is one of the most difficult decisions they have to make. Everyone wants their parent to be safe and well cared for, but with nursing homes underfunded and understaffed, where do you turn? We found the solution in the Assisted Living of Durand.
The family style setting in the nicely appointed home of Marianne and Doug Van Stedum was a great fit for our father. The first evening that dad was to spend the night, Marianne invited our family to share dinner with the other residents and staff. It was a beautiful way for dad to be introduced to the idea of assisted living and it wasn’t long before he became attached to Marianne, Doug and the rest of the residents and staff. We too became part of the assisted living family as we visited and joined in the fun of seasonal parties and gatherings that were hosted for the family and friends of the residents. We consider ourselves so very fortunate to have been able to place Dad at the Assisted Living of Durand.
His quality of life improved one hundred fold after moving in with Marianne. We would absolutely recommend your family member be taken care of by the attentive staff of the Assisted Living of Durand."

To Whom It May Concern:
Marian Van Stedum is a very pleasant 56-year-old female who runs a group home in Durand. She has taken care of many of my patients. She has a four bed home with a sit to stand apparatus, a roll in shower and a handicap van to help can for her clients. She has taken care of patient's of mine for ten years. She knows them very well. When they need to go to the emergency room she accompanies them and I have had emergency room doctors even comment on how well she knows her clients. She stays with them as much as possible while in the hospital, not just in the emergency room but even upstairs or if they need to go to surgery. I refer patients to her group home whenever possible.
If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding her facility or her care I would be happy to talk with you by phone.
